The reason that we exist as Calvary Community Church is to make more and maturing disciples of Jesus, which is simply our shortened way of following what Jesus commanded the very first disciples to live out (Matthew 28:16-20). The problem is, shortly after becoming disciples, most people lose sight of the plan of Jesus that his disciples would be involved for the rest of their lives in making other disciples.
Chances are, you already know that. You’ve heard it often here at Calvary. But maybe you aren’t sure what it looks like to talk with others about Jesus, and to proclaim the good news that you know and believe in. Enter our newest Sunday class: “Evangelism”. To Evangelize simply means to share the Good News of Jesus with others.
Do you wonder what God’s purpose in Evangelism is? Are you looking for help in simply and briefly stating and explaining the Good News? Would you like to know how to share with your Catholic co-worker or Muslim neighbor? How about learning the best way to tell your story? What about dealing with those pesky questions and objections? Or the challenge of talking with a close family member? Or dealing with the rejection that comes from sharing? These topics and more will be addressed on a week-by-week basis.
So join us, starting Sunday, March 10, to be encouraged and equipped to live out the great commission that Jesus has given to us: to make more disciples for him.
