Matthew Molesky, Pastor for Preaching and Vision

Pastor Matthew Molesky - Bio PageMatthew Molesky serves as Pastor for Preaching and Vision at Calvary. Prior to becoming a pastor, he worked in the corporate world for twelve years, mainly in Minneapolis, MN. In 1998, he began to discern a call from God into full-time ministry. He spent almost seven years at Bethlehem Baptist Church, three of those as an apprentice of Pastor Tom Steller and Pastor John Piper. He then spent over two years in Orlando, as a pastor with Gregg Heinsch, helping launch a new church and a training institute for church planters, as part of a new BGC effort called Vision 360.

Matthew has a graduate certificate from The Bethlehem Institute, and is currently pursuing his Master of Divinity degree from Reformed Theological Seminary. He is a passionate proclaimer of the glory of God, the Bible, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ - and how all those lead to our abundant joy. He also enjoys reading, running, hanging out with friends, and golf - even though he is not very good at that last one. Matthew and his wife of 18 years, Susan, live near the church in St. Cloud and have four children.

Chris Stone, Director for Worship and Music

Chris Stone - Bio Page

A native northern Minnesotan, Chris’s hobbies include music, music, and well, um . . . music. Starting with the piano in 1975, Chris’ musical interests over the years have spread from the piano to saxophone, guitars, and other instruments, as well as sound reinforcement, recording, audio engineering, scoring, songwriting, arranging, and anything and everything music related. But it was ten years of formal training, a brief stay at the University of Minnesota School of Music, and a constant love for playing the piano that brought steady employment as a musician. After working for years in the limelight of local and regional acts, friends finally urged him to step out from the sidelines and commit to a first full-length solo piano concert in September 2007, in conjunction with the release of a solo CD.

Being involved in music ministry has also been a large part of Chris’ life. After years of being involved in worship activities behind the scenes at Calvary, Chris has recently turned greater attention to the calling of the ministry he has always had a passion for - by stepping into the Worship and Music Director position at Calvary. This passion for ministry began when he was a teenager, accompanying several churches in his hometown of Hibbing and extended to Calvary shortly after moving to the St. Cloud area in 1990 with his wife Paula. Chris, Paula, and their four children currently reside in Sauk Rapids.

Josh Johnson, Director of Student Ministries

Josh Johnson (2) - Bio PageJosh grew up attending Calvary. When he was five years old his parents explained the Gospel and his need for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. At that time he accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior. Josh feels God has been opening up doors and leading him into ministry for the last three years. When he began volunteering with the youth he never thought that God would call him into full-time ministry. As he volunteered more and more he was able to witness God working not only in the lives of the students but also in his own life.

Josh is currently a student at St. Cloud State University. He has completed a major in Political Science and is finishing a major in Business Management with a concentration in Human Resources and a minor in Economics. Josh considers it an incredible privilege to watch God work in the lives of the students at Calvary. After going through rough years in high school, he wants to make sure that students feel that they can put their trust in the promises of Jesus Christ, and that they can be part of a community that loves, encourages, and challenges them to go deeper in their relationship with the Lord. Josh's hobbies include golfing and camping in the summer and skiing (painfully learning to snowboard) in the winter; he enjoys spending time with friends and watching a good movie. When he gets the chance he likes to play piano and guitar.

Twila Pulford, Director of Children's Ministries

Twila Pulford - Bio PageI was raised one of three children in a Christian home. I accepted Christ as a young child during Vacation Bible School (hence my love for that summer ministry.) I cannot remember ever wanting to do anything other than work with children, and I've always wanted to be a teacher. Going to college I never wavered from that desire. After teaching a few years in the school system, I had a restless spirit. I loved my job, but I wanted to grow spiritually. Taking a leave of absence I attended Western Seminary, thinking that if I were open, God would call me to missions. Instead I discovered that God had given me this love for children, and He planned on using the person I am, the passion I have and the love that fills me for His glory. I have always wanted my life to count for eternity and God has led me to serve Him at Calvary for what has been most of my life, 28 years.

God has given me the desire of my heart. Although I work hard, I have never really felt that I work for a living. I do what I love and get paid for doing it. Everyone should be so blessed.  In my spare time I love spending time with friends and family. I love animals and now enjoy two cats, Einstein and Gideon. In the past, I have had canaries, hamsters, even a white rat as a class room pet. I also enjoy a good book and usually have a couple I am in process of reading at any given time.

Weekly Memory Passage: Matthew 20:26b-28 (ESV)

But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
