Adult Sunday Classes

We offer Adult Education classes on Sunday mornings. We will meet from 9:00-10:00 a.m. beginning September 11, 2011 and ending May 23, 2012.

Purpose and Overview

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith."  Hebrews 12:1-2

Sunday Classes at Calvary Community Church are here to train you and help you grow as a disciple of Jesus Christ who wants to run the race and finish well.  We have implemented the use of a proven curriculum provided by a like-minded fellowship, Capital Hill Baptist Church in Washington, D.C.

The whole team is very excited about what God will do through his Word, this curriculum, the teachers who are working hard to equip you, and your grace-driven efforts to follow Jesus. Three core tracks are offered to choose from: Bible Overview, Christian Life, and Christian Growth.

When and Where

All classes meet every Sunday at 9:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

Reading and Materials

Most of the classes will have handouts available for you each week, as well as reference useful Christian books during the class. If you’d like one of the books ordered for you, please contact the church office, and we would be happy to do so to supplement your learning.

Basic. Fear God
Teacher: Guy Magno

BASIC.FEAR GOD is the first film in a seven-part short film series from the creators of NOOMA featuring Francis Chan.

To understand the relationship between God and man, we turn to those who have directly interacted with Him in the Bible. In each case, they are met with fear. Not respect, reverence or courage, but sheer speechlessness, humility, and complete surrender. They are overcome with pure fear and many of them cry out to be destroyed. Most people today have lost this fear. We must understand that a true fear of God leads to the keeping of His commandments, leads to life, and is the beginning of wisdom. Everyone who has come face-to-face with God falls over in fear. Do you think you'd do anything different? www.basicseries.com
